Social media has become a powerful tool for marketing your business. Of course, there are numerous different Social networking platforms and each needs a different approach. In this article, we’d like to share some tips for how to market your business with LinkedIn.

Tip #1 – Create a LinkedIn Company Profile

Like most social networks, LinkedIn started life with only individual member profiles and later on added the facility to create company pages to promote your brand, products and services. If you haven’t already done so, create your own company profile. It’s quick and easy. You can even upload a header picture specifically for your company page.

Tip #2 – Invite your connections to follow your company page

Now you need to get people to visit your company page. Start by creating a new “status update” from your personal profile that includes a direct link to your LinkedIn Company page as well as some benefits they might get from following your company page.

Tip #3 Add your organisations products and services

Many businesses create a company page but then fail to enter details of their products and services. LinkedIn allows you to create an entry for each product complete with an attention grabbing image. Once you have created your product listings you should invite existing customers to submit a specific product recommendation.

Tip #4 Share your own articles / blog posts on your company page

Adding in new content to your company profile on a regular basis is the key to ongoing engagement. Unfortunately, many people forget that posting content on their personal profile doesn’t automatically add it to your company page (unless you have a paid-for Pro account). You need to go to your personal profile and click on your company name to get to your company profile first. Then you can add an update which will show up on your company page. You can simply type an article in or paste a link to your latest blog post or other relevant online content. Fresh, interesting, and relevant content will build your credibility and keep your followers coming back for more.

And this is just the start…

Of course this isn’t an exhaustive list. You can do much more with your company profile, but we recommend that you get the basics right before worrying about the advanced stuff.
