Pictures have the power to grab our attention and convey a wealth of information and emotion in a split second. Orange Pixel are based in Portsmouth and our talented team of website design wizards understand the power of pictures so we asked Stephane Rocher to let us know what he thinks about it from a Photographers point of view.

Here’s what he said:

We are surrounded by visual stimuli, whether it’s in magazines, advertisement, billboards along the streets or photos we take of family and friends. What makes images so appealing to us? Well, they are more easily and quicker digested than long winded pages of text.

No doubt, we often need text to get our message across. But looking at good web-design for example, we need to give our visitors something to create an interest in actually reading the text, and this can be done with good imagery. You may think a few stock photos will do? Wrong, your potential clients will have seen those photos on many other websites and may doubt your integrity as an honest business.

The aim is to make your visitors stay on your website as long as possible and to gather the information they need by using good website design including genuine and good quality photography. Don’t bore your visitors with too much text, give them some images to create an interest and understanding of what you do and what you have to offer. The rest you can sort in a personal chat once they have contacted you to ask for your business.

My photography business has been helping small to corporate businesses over the last 10 years with high quality photography for their website, advertising, PR and print material. Your photography can be done in my studio or on location across the country. Upon your initial contact I will try to arrange for a meeting to discuss your thoughts and help you with your vision. You may want to check out my website at www.stephanerocher.co.uk to see what I can do for you. There isn’t a lot of text but an invitation to contact me and we then go from there.
