Bespoke Business Systems in Hampshire, Built Around How You Work

Most businesses run on a patchwork: a CRM here, a booking tool there, and a spreadsheet holding it all together. It works, until it doesn’t.

At Orange Pixel, we design, build and support bespoke business systems for organisations across Hampshire, West Sussex, Surrey and beyond. Your system is built around how you already work, rather than asking you to bend your process to fit someone else’s software. We are based in Petersfield, we do the work ourselves, and we stay with you long after launch.

Tell us what your current tools are not doing, and we will tell you what it would take.

Is a bespoke system right for you?

It is worth a conversation if any of these sound familiar:

Plain English

What is a bespoke business system?

A bespoke system is software designed and built for one business. It does the things you need in the order you need them, and nothing else. It usually runs in a web browser, so your team can use it from the office, on site or at home.

New to the idea? Our plain-English guide explains it in more detail →.

Our work

What we build

Every project is different, but the systems we build commonly cover:

Bespoke does not mean replacing everything. Your system can connect to the accounting, payment, email and calendar tools you already like, so you only build the part that is specific to you.

Cost

Why bespoke is more affordable than it used to be

Not long ago, a custom system was an enterprise purchase. The hours needed to write, test and maintain software from scratch put it out of reach for most small businesses.

That has changed. We use modern AI-assisted tools throughout development to handle much of the routine work, which frees our time for what matters: understanding your business, designing something your team will want to use, and drawing on experience to avoid problems later. Every system is reviewed and tested by our own developers before it reaches you.

The result is that a system which might once have taken months can often be built in weeks, at a cost closer to what many businesses already spend on subscriptions. Many small systems start from around £12,000, with a modest ongoing charge for hosting and support.

Straight answer

Bespoke or off-the-shelf? An honest view

Off-the-shelf software is the right choice for plenty of businesses. If a standard product does what you need, at a fair price, we will say so.

Bespoke starts to make sense when:

  • you are paying for several tools that do not quite fit together

  • your process is genuinely different from the average business
  • subscription costs keep rising
  • you want to own your own system and data
The process

How a project works

01

A conversation

We start by understanding how you work today, including the spreadsheets and workarounds. There is no obligation and no sales deck.

02

Mapping

We map what your system needs to do and who needs to use it.

03

A clear scope and price

You know exactly what you are getting and what it costs before anything is built.

04

Build and review

We build in stages and show you progress along the way, so there are no surprises at the end.

05

Launch and training

We help your team get comfortable and stay close during the first weeks.

06

Ongoing support

We look after it, and we keep improving it with you.

Always working for you

Support that does not stop at launch

A system is only as good as the support behind it. We look after hosting, backups, security updates and monitoring, and you can call us when you need help. When your business changes, your system can change with it, and small changes are usually turned around within a couple of working days.

Many of our website customers have been with us for over a decade, and we intend to build the same kind of relationship around your system.

Local to you

A Hampshire team you can meet

You can work with a developer anywhere, but there is real value in someone you can sit down with over a coffee. From our base in Petersfield, we work with businesses across Hampshire, West Sussex and Surrey, including Chichester, Midhurst, Portsmouth, Havant, Winchester, Alton, Farnham and Guildford, and we support customers all over the UK. If you would like to talk through your ideas face to face, we are happy to visit you or welcome you to our office.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is bespoke software not expensive?2026-09-25T13:26:32+01:00

It used to be. AI-assisted development has removed a large share of the routine hours, so systems that once took months can often be built in weeks. For many small businesses, the build cost is comparable to two or three years of the subscriptions it replaces.

How long does it take?2026-09-25T13:25:54+01:00

It depends on the size of the system. We give you a realistic timeline as part of the scope, before you commit.

What happens when I need a change?2026-09-25T13:25:18+01:00

You tell us. Because your system contains only what you use, changes are simpler and less likely to cause side effects than in a large product.

Who looks after it?2026-09-25T13:24:44+01:00

We do. Hosting, backups, security updates and support are covered by an ongoing arrangement.

Can it connect to the tools I want to keep?2026-09-25T13:24:01+01:00

Yes. Accounting packages, payment providers, email and calendar tools generally have interfaces we can connect to.

What if we are not sure what we need?2026-09-25T13:23:22+01:00

That is the normal starting point. We begin by understanding how you work today and map what a system would need to do. You get a clear scope and price before anything is built.

Let’s talk about your system

A short conversation is usually enough to say whether a bespoke system makes sense for you, and roughly what it would cost. No obligation.
